Vox Media
As Editor-in-Chief of Thrillist, I set the content strategy and led the editorial vision, transforming the general lifestyle site into an award-winning travel brand with a loyal and hyper-engaged audience.
The revamped strategy focused on travel through the lens of identity and personal passions. Whether they were traveling for food, music, culture, sports, or nightlife, we helped our audience find adventure around every corner.
At Thrillist, I built and led flagship franchises across platforms: original series, branded tentpoles, and long-form stories that didn’t just reach our audience, but redefined what a travel brand could sound and feel like.
While working with teams across Vox, I managed content strategy and oversaw the production of sponsored programs with brands like Ford, Marriott, Meta, Norwegian Cruise Line, DICE, and many others.
Vice Media
As Editor-in-Chief of Broadly, I transformed the women and identity-focused site into one of VICE’s most culturally influential lifestyle brands, growing it into its most-trafficked vertical for two consecutive years and most popular with Gen Z.
I also oversaw award-winning journalism and original reporting, record-breaking audience engagement, and bold, experiential tentpoles that created press-worthy moments and shaped culture.
I led a full brand relaunch to make the brand feel current again — and built it to last. That meant a new logo, a reimagined homepage with new verticals, and a sharper social identity, all grounded in an editorial voice that felt more relevant and powerful.
Working with our sales and revenue teams at VICE, I championed Broadly and built relationships with brands seeking authentic sponsorships across social, video and editorial. Our clients included Unilever, Smirnoff, Reebok, Vans, HBO and many others.
I worked with product and revenue teams on the creation of VICE’s first-ever paid subscription app, which was built to capitalize on our astrology section’s rapid traffic growth and loyal audience.
Under my leadership, Broadly also produced Queerly Beloved, a podcast mini series focused on queer love stories, which was nominated for an ASME award in podcasting.
Inspired by our changing relationships to power and identity, I co-edited VICE Magazine’s Privacy and Perception Issue and continued to commission and edit impactful long-form features and reports that explored these topics, ultimately helping us better understand each other — and ourselves.
As Editor in Chief, I oversaw the creation of numerous multi-platform and off-platform content initiatives, including a collaboration with the artists Black Power Naps on a print magazine for an experiential event alongside a digital editorial program (above).
I also ideated and led the award-winning Gender Spectrum Collection, a first-of-its-kind stock photo library featuring images of trans and non-binary models that go beyond the clichés (right). This collection aimed to change industry standards for how members of these communities are represented. Upon its release, we coordinated an editorial and social program along with a live, ticketed event recommended by the New York Times.
Mel Magazine
As Executive Editor of the men’s lifestyle and internet culture site, I oversaw cultural and political commentary, short-form service content, and impactful, zeitgeisty long-form storytelling you couldn’t find anywhere else.
During my time at MEL, the site hit new traffic goals, expanded its franchise and tentpole offerings, and broadened its cultural footprint through new channels and platform partnerships.
Courier Newsroom
As Founding Editor-in-Chief and Head of Content Strategy, I built, staffed and led seven local progressive newsrooms across the country, with a focus on bringing informative, social-first news to audiences that needed it most.
